Rabbit Hole
by: David Lindsay-Abaire
Winner of the Pullitzer Prize for Drama in 2007, Rabbit Hole by David Lindsay-Abaire is the very modern and at times too realistic story of a family that experiences a tremendous loss. The audience journeys with husband and wife Howie and Becca as they deal with the loss together, but in different ways. While attempting to move on with their lives, they also find that they are constantly reminded of the loss they have experienced, and perhaps have not fully begun to heal from it. Becca’s sister Izzy and her mother Nat try to help, but often end up doing more harm than good. They also encounter Jason, a young man who is not a member of the family but mourning with them nonetheless. The audience is swept up in the heart-wrenching emotions that come out in very powerful, poignant ways. Together, this fragile family learns that the only way out is through.
