Jackson County YOUNG Artists’ Theatre
The Jackson County Young Artists Theatre (JCYAT) is JCCT’s program for youth from elementary to high school age. After a number of years of irregular youth programming, JCYAT has found its footing, and the program has experienced rapid growth in the last three years. What began as an effort to re-establish a summer program for children has grown to an annual summer workshop and three productions with parts for young artists each season. The summer workshop is designed to allow students to focus on various elements of theatre from performing to makeup and set work. The final day of the workshop serves as a formal audition for the summer production. Students also have the opportunity to return to the stage in JCYAT and mainstage productions later in the season.
Expectations
JCCT strives to provide a positive arts experience for all its performers, especially its young artists. As a result, all students and parents are expected to adhere to the code of conduct set forth here.
